Here are a few stretches that never made it into our stretch programmes, but you can use them to replace stretches, that you don't like, try to replace like for like i.e. shoulder for shoulder etc...
Prior to commencing on any of our programmes, it is wise to stretch, failure to stretch could lead to injury, however not only does stretching reduce the risk of injury but also allows you to get the most from you exercise programme.
When you exercise, your muscles contract and relax, contract and relax. The repeated contraction can lead to shortening up of the muscles. Stretching helps prevent this. Many injuries are caused by poor flexibility.
The programme here is comprehensive and selected to give full exercise of your muscle groups prior to and following exercise.
Stretching should be done before and after exercises. When you stretch before exercising, you need to warm up the muscles first, follow this with stretching, and then proceed with your exercise routine.
